As a 501(c)(3) non-profit that receives no government funding, Soul’s Harbor of Joplin relies entirely on the compassion of our community. Your donations go directly toward providing a safe haven, a warm meal, and a fresh start for men, women, and families in the Joplin area.
1. Food Pantry & Kitchen Donations
We serve public breakfast and dinner daily and provide food baskets to local families. We gratefully accept both perishable and non-perishable items.
- Most Needed Non-Perishables: Canned meats (tuna, chicken), peanut butter, pasta and sauce, canned vegetables/fruit, and boxed meals.
- Fresh Items: We accept fresh produce, bread, and meats.
- Bulk Supplies: Large “#10” cans and bulk ingredients are incredibly helpful for our daily community meals.
- Drop-off Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at our main office (817 S. Main St.).
2. The Free Store (Clothing & Household)
Unlike a traditional thrift store, our Free Store provides items at no cost to those in need. We accept gently used items that are clean and in good working condition.
- Clothing: Men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, shoes, and new undergarments/socks (especially during “SOCKtober”).
- Linens: Towels, washcloths, and twin-sized bedding for our shelter residents.
- Hygiene Items: Soap, shampoo, deodorant, razors, and feminine hygiene products.
- Household Goods: Small appliances, kitchenware, and furniture (please call ahead for large furniture to ensure we have space!).
- Drop-off Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
3. Monetary Donations
Financial gifts allow us to keep the lights on, provide professional counseling, and purchase specific items our guests need most.
- Donate Online: Give securely through our PayPal Link. You can set up a one-time gift or a recurring monthly donation.
- By Mail: Checks can be made out to Soul’s Harbor of America and sent to: PO Box 1782 Joplin, MO 64802
- In Person: Cash or check donations are accepted at our office at 817 South Main Street.
4. Specific Needs & Seasonal Drives
Throughout the year, we have urgent needs for items like bottled water during summer heatwaves or heavy coats and blankets during the winter months.
